Shri.RC Singh has played a key role in regional development, with B.P. Marine Academy standing as his most impactful contribution.
Founder-Chairman R.C. Singh, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Sambalpur, began his maritime career with Shipping Corporation of India in 1976. He sailed for 17 years, rising to the rank of Chief Engineer by 1993.
In 1993, a freak wave accident near Cape Town left him with multiple fractures, 80% disability, and ended his sailing career. After a 14-day coma and six months of recovery, his determination remained unshaken.
Turning adversity into opportunity, he spent four years rebuilding his life, even running a small PCO booth while fighting for compensation.
In 1997, with a single small office in CBD Belapur, he founded B.P. Marine Academy, inspired by one core lesson—safety must never be neglected. The academy began with its first course in Elementary First Aid, growing steadily with a around 1Lac batches successfully conducted till date.
Today, B.P. Marine Academy operates from 1,35,000 sq. ft. in CBD and a 15-acre campus in Panvel, offering world-class facilities for global maritime training.
We have successfully trained 25,467 Pre-Sea students and 9,24,665 Post-Sea students, contributing to a total of 9,50,132 and contributed ₹55 crore towards education for deserving students.
